EarthHouse is council approved from midday through to 10:30pm. Due to the unique and spectacular setting we recommend you commence your wedding day as early as possible to make the most of what EarthHouse has to offer.

EarthHouse is perfect for small intimate weddings, or large celebrations of up to 130 guests.


This unique venue consists of a dramatic space complete with a large open fireplace, polished concrete floors, cathedral ceilings and exposed beams.

The room opens out onto a large 3.5m x 16m verandah which boasts spectacular northerly views into valley and beyond to the beautiful Nightcap Ranges.

At the rear of the building there are three beautifully appointed bathrooms (male, female and disabled) and an undercover catering area with direct access to the main space.



Ceremonies are to be held beneath our 100 year-old fig tree, which is surrounded by extensive lawns and gardens. Wet weather back-up for ceremonies is the covered verandah.

There is a large purpose-built, undercover catering area attached to the rear of the main event space. We have a list of great local caterers that we can recommend.

Both live and amplified music are accepted. Live music limited to a max 3-piece band. No percussion, live drums or brass. There is a designated music and dance floor area, with ample power for your needs.

There is no PA equipment or sound system supplied.

All music must cease by 10:00pm. This is a council requirement.

There are 15 car spaces including a designated disabled car park - available for suppliers and immediate wedding party ONLY.

It is a Council requirement that all guests arrive and depart via bus.

There is a bus pick-up and drop-off point onsite.

We can provide you with a list of local bus companies who can assist with transport depending on the amount of guests.

All guests other than those staying at EarthHouse are to depart by 10:30pm.

The venue is not licensed. The client must arrange all drinks.


Three beautifully appointed bathrooms - male, female and disabled.



Accommodation consists of two separate queen-sized rooms, each with their own private entrance, courtyard, breakfast pantry and ensuite.

We provide a beautiful continental breakfast daily and champagne on arrival for the bride and groom.

Accommodation is always included as part of any wedding package.

Proximity to Airport: EarthHouse is located 2 hours drive from Brisbane; 55 minutes from Coolangatta airport; and 30 minutes from Ballina airport.

Proximity to Byron and surrounds: EarthHouse is 25-30 minutes to Byron Bay, 10-15 minutes to the historical village of Bangalow, and 30 minutes to both Lennox and Brunswick Heads.

  • Venue hire does not include items such as cutlery, crockery, tables, chairs, tablecloths, food, drinks etc. All such items must be sourced and managed by the client;
  • All food is to be provided by a mobile caterer of your choice;
  • Management is happy to recommend local suppliers if required (e.g. hire companies, caterers etc.);
  • Rubbish removal is the responsibility of the client and we recommend a local company;
  • Exclusive use of the gardens, lawns, fig tree and event space on the day of your event only;
  • Only the guests staying onsite at EarthHouse are permitted to use the accommodation facilities. All other guests are to use the facilities provided in the event space.
  • EarthHouse includes a large emergency back-up generator wired into the venue in the unlikely event of power lose.
  • The North facing verandah and back-up ceremony area has clear pull-down blinds in the event of unfavourable weather- All Weather Venue.
  • 40m of erected festoon garden lighting also included.
  • EarthHouse requires on the day co-ordination to ensure your big day runs smoothly.
